I don’t know about you, but we loved June’s record breaking sunshine. Then July came along and surprised us all by being almost as warm and sunny. Wow, British Summertime, what are you doing to us? Surely you are not going to become reliable and consistent, are you? To the best of my knowledge, even Wimbledon only had a single day where there were minor rain delays. And the predictions for the next few months are just as positive.

Maybe, if this long, regular, predictable summertime becomes the norm in our country we could plan to do more stuff in advance. Now, I admit that I am, by nature, an optimist and the that there are no guarantees that this will be the pattern in the years to come. But what if?

How would reliable weather change you your Summer planning?

So, imagine living in one of the best countries in the world (yes, that is right – England) with all the opportunities and excellence it has to offer – plus fabulous, steadfast sunshine all summer!

  • You could plan days at the beach with the family, weeks in advance (and even stay locally overnight to avoid the traffic jams).
  • You could arrange days out at theme parks without having to worry about buying those throw away cheap rain ponchos when you get there.
  • Family BBQs would not be a case of Dad standing outside cooking in the rain on his own: and then having to eat the results of his labour crowded around the kitchen table.

Of course, regular summers like these might have a downside too… since we do live in a country prone to water shortages (even with our more traditional, wetter summers). So, you might end up with a drier, browner garden as a price to pay for a better, more dependable Summer. But we might be able to help you out there 😊
